NFL Weather Week 13: Rain, wind in forecast unlikely to affect fantasy start ’em, sit ’em decisions

By | November 30, 2022

As we enter December, weather is always lurking in the background as a potential factor in fantasy start ’em, sit ’em decisions. Fortunately, the Week 13 NFL weather forecast is fairly mild, at least by December standards, as rain, wind, and cold figures to only affect a handful of games. Nonetheless, RotoGrinders’ meteorologist Kevin Roth is once again here to help us break down the weather updates you need to know before locking in your lineup.

Before we get into the Week 13 forecasts, here’s a reminder that if you have any questions about sports weather or how weather could impact play (and, potentially, your fantasy, DFS, and gambling decisions), don’t hesitate to reach out to RotoGrinders’ meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) or check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. If a game isn’t mentioned below, it’s because it doesn’t even have 10-mph winds or a 20-percent chance of rain in the forecast.

Bills @ Patriots: Wind gusts of up to 20 mph appear to be in store for the early portion of this game, and with temps in the 30s, it could slow down the players a bit. Fortunately, there won’t be any precipitation, and the wind is expected to die down in the second half. These aren’t optimal conditions, but they’re far from prohibitive, so you can play your starters as usual.

Packers @ Bears. With temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s and winds around 10-15 mph, this also won’t be the most fun game for the players, but unless the forecast worsens, there’s no need to bench any of your normal starters.

WEEK 13 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Dolphins @ 49ers. This is the most likely game for rain, with early forecasts calling for a 50-percent chance of showers. There won’t be much wind, though, so unless the rain will be heavy, fantasy owners shouldn’t shy away from any of the key players in these passing attacks.

Chiefs @ Bengals. There’s a 15-30-percent chance of rain throughout this game, with early forecasts suggesting that showers will come late if they come at all. Stick with all of your key starters, including the kickers.
