So far during the month of February, the Oklahoma City Thunder have yet to lose a single game. Currently on a seven-game winning streak, Loud City has the opportunity to go on yet another extensive streak of victories.
First, however, they have to get through the seventh ranked team in the Eastern Conference who recently was able to trade away their disgruntled All-Star.
Time and Location
The OKC Thunder will play the Miami Heat in the Paycom Center today, Feb. 12, at 8:00 PM EST/7:00 PM CST as well as on FanDuel Sports Network – Oklahoma.
Lineups
For the Thunder, this should be their anticipated starters:
As for the Heat, this may be their potential starting five:
Position: | Name: | Number: |
Point Guard | Davion Mitchell | 45 |
Shooting Guard | Alec Burks | 18 |
Small Forward | Andrew Wiggins | 22 |
Power Forward | Kel’el Ware | 7 |
Center | Bam Adebayo | 13 |
Injuries
For Oklahoma City, Chet Holmgren will be out due to rest alongside Cason Wallace (shoulder), Ousmane Dieng (calf), Ajay Mitchell (toe), and Nikola Topic (ACL).
And for Miami, Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Terry Rozier, and Jamie Jaquez are all listed as questionable due to illness. Kevin Love is out because of personal reasons.
What to know
Although the Heat are without their All-Star in Tyler Herro and no longer have their veteran in Jimmy Butler, Miami is still a solid franchise. With a record of 25-26, Bam Adebayo and Andrew Wiggins head the franchise in hopes of making a dent in their Eastern Conference ranking.
However, the OKC Thunder may be too much to handle. The last time these two teams faced off was back in mid December where Oklahoma City beat Miami 104-97 on their home court. With Jalen Williams totaling 33 points and six rebounds and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scoring 25 points and four assists, the Heat had no answers for the All-Star duo.
Now with this second matchup taking place in the Sooner State, the Heat will have a hard time trying to end the Thunder’s six-game winning streak. Of course, though, anything can happen in the NBA.
