Premier League 2022/23: When do the fixtures come out? When does next season start?

By | May 19, 2022

The 2022/23 Premier League season will be an unusual one because of its break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which takes place in Qatar in November and December.

This will be the first season in which the action will resume eight days after a World Cup final, but some traditions remain: the release of the Premier League fixtures in the summer allows fans to start plotting the next nine months anew.

The two sides who have been automatically promoted from the Championship provide familiar stadiums for supporters to head to, as Bournemouth and Fulham both bounced back in 2021/22 after being relegated the previous season.

Newcomers to the scene will include incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, fresh from scoring 86 goals in 89 games for Borussia Dortmund. Here are the dates to look out for.

When do the fixtures come out?

Fans have less than a month to wait between the final day of the 2021/22 season and the release of the 2022/23 Premier League fixtures.

The schedule is expected to be released by the Premier League on June 16, 2022 at 9 a.m. BST / 4 a.m. ET.

When does next season start?

Adjusted to accommodate the World Cup, the 2022/23 Premier League season will start eight days earlier than the previous campaign.

The first fixtures will be scheduled for August 6, 2022, giving players a break of around two and a half months from Premier League action.
