PSG vs. Al Nassr, Al Hilal prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for Riyadh Season Cup 2023 in Saudi Arabia

By | January 18, 2023

After his headline-making move to Al Nassr over the winter, Cristiano Ronaldo probably wouldn’t have been expecting his debut as a Saudi Pro League player to come against French giants PSG.

But nevertheless, the decorated Portuguese forward will be relishing the opportunity to make a splash and to silence those critics who doubted his move to the Middle East.

Whether such a performance will materialise is yet to be seen but PSG are here to spoil his party. With boss Christophe Galtier expected to announce a strong side for this star studded event, they’re the bookmakers’ heavy favourites to win but their recent form leaves a lot to be desired.

With plenty of attacking options alongside Ronaldo, including fellow former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo, PSG’s opposition will fancy causing an upset.

PSG vs. Al Nassr, Al Hilal odds

Unsurprisingly, the bookmakers have made French champions PSG the heavy favourites in this one-ff clash.

That’s understandable on the fact of things but if boss Christophe Galtier puts out a weakened side in Riyadh, this match ending a draw or even in a loss for PSG shouldn’t be out of the question.

At 9/2, the draw in particular offers fantastic value for the punter, especially given PSG’s struggles of late that saw them lose 0-1 on the road last time out against Rennes in Ligue 1.

PSG vs. Al Nassr, Al Hilal team news

With a Coupe de France tie vs. lowly Pays de Cassel next on the horizon following this match, perhaps it should be expected that PSG boss Christophe Galtier will go quite strong with his line up here in Saudi Arabia.

He’ll want his star forwards in Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to work their way back into form and this fixture could prove the tonic for the talented trio. Presnel Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes and Marco Verratti are likely to miss out though.

Despite it not being as strong as other football leagues across world football, there’ll still be plenty of stars on show for the Riyadh All-Star XI.

As well as Cristiano Ronaldo, PSG’s opposition could also feature stars including former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo, Moussa Marega, Anderson Talisca and Andre Carillo. Ronaldo’s new teammate goalkeeper David Ospina will miss out with an elbow injury however.

PSG vs. Al Nassr, Al Hilal prediction

  • Moneyline lean: PSG to win (2/9)
  • Score prediction: PSG 4-2 Al Nassr, Al Hilal

One thing that you should expect in this match is goals, and plenty of them.

Whilst PSG boast arguably the best frontline in all of football – who should all feature here – the Riyadh All-Star XI also have plenty of firepower in their attack. With Ronaldo likely keen to prove everyone wrong after his move to Al-Nassr was widely questioned, you wouldn’t put it past the Portuguese international to find the back of the net here especially given the fact that he’ll be on penalties and free kicks for the French side’s opposition.

PSG vs. Al Nassr, Al Hilal: Best bet

  • Pick: Cristiano Ronaldo & Lionel Messi both to score
  • Odds: 9/2 (SkyBet)

It just had to be this selection didn’t it.

Two of the greatest players in the history of the sport potentially going head-to-head for the final time and at 9/2 with SkyBet, the value is nice.

Ronaldo will be extremely keen to put in an eye-catching performance here and despite his poor World Cup showing and the fact he netted just three times across 16 Manchester United appearances before his move to Al-Nassr, he can’t be written off.

As for Messi, the Argentine heads into this match off the back of a stunning overall display at the 2022 World Cup and in the best form of his PSG career after netting 13 times through 21 club outings this campaign so far.
