RB Salzburg vs. Bayern Munich live score, updates, highlights from UEFA Champions League Round of 16

By | February 16, 2022

Bayern Munich is looking to bounce back from a rare Bundesliga defeat as its Champions League knock-out stage participation begins with a trip to the Red Bull Arena to face RB Salzburg.

Bayern fell 4-2 away to VfL Bochum on Saturday — and manager Julian Nagelsmann will still be without Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka, Alphonso Davies and teenager Jamal Musiala through a variety of injuries and illnesses.

But the German champions’ record in Europe is impeccable so far this campaign— six wins from six during the group stages, beating Benfica, Barcelona and Dynamo Kyiv home and away.

Bayern will get a decent test from an in-your-face RB Salzburg team which became the first Austrian team to advance to the Champions League Round of 16. Its strength lies in a core of young, dynamic attackers headlined by Karim Adeyemi, Noah Okafor and American Brenden Aaronson, whose names are already making the rounds as potential summer transfers.
