After taking two out of three from the top team in the National League, the Boston Red Sox will host the top team in the American League, the New York Yankees, for a three-game set at Fenway Park starting on Friday.

For the contest, Boston will send Brayan Bello to the mound while New York will counter with Luis Gil.

Here’s what Alex Cora’s lineup will look like for the opener:

  1. Jarren Duran LF
  2. David Hamilton SS
  3. Tyler O’Neill RF
  4. Rafael Devers 3B
  5. Masataka Yoshida DH
  6. Connor Wong C
  7. Enmanuel Valdez 2B
  8. Dominic Smith 1B
  9. Ceddanne Rafaela CF

Bello hasn’t been great for Boston this season, posting a 4.78 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP in his 11 starts. He’s allowed at least three runs in each of his last five outings. Seven Yankees have hits off of him in his career – Oswaldo Cabrera (2-for-11), Aaron Judge (2-for-7 with two walks), DJ LeMahieu (2-for-6 with an RBI), Giancarlo Stanton (1-for-8 with a walk), Gleyber Torres (6-for-14 with an RBI and a walk), Jose Trevino (2-for-8 with three RBIs) and Anthony Volpe (2-for-5).

Gil has been impressive for New York through his 13 starts, recording a 2.04 ERA (fifth in baseball) and a 0.93 WHIP (fourth) while striking out 90 batters (tied for 12th). Prior to his last outing (three earned runs allowed), he hadn’t given up more than a run in his previous seven starts. Only Duran (1-for-2) has ever recorded a hit off of him.
