Shakur Stevenson vs. Shuichiro Yoshino live fight updates, results, highlights from 2023 boxing fight

By | April 8, 2023

Back in action, Shakur Stevenson is ready to take over the lightweight division. The first challenge in his journey to greatness is in the form of Shuichiro Yoshino on April 8.

Fighting in his backyard in New Jersey, Stevenson’s fight is inside the Prudential Center. The bout will air on ESPN and ESPN+ in the U.S.

A WBO featherweight champion and a holder of the WBC and The Ring super featherweight titles, Stevenson has fought inside the Prudential Center twice. A leading man over his last few fights, interest in his bouts has increased over time. A star in the making at 25, Stevenson knows his value and believes he can be the true face of boxing.

“A lotta people say a bunch of things, like I’m not a ticket-seller or I won’t do this or that. I mean, it’s clear and obvious that people rock with me,” Stevenson told Boxing Scene.

“People try to say that my fight with [Oscar] Valdez, the crowd that we had, the great turnout, that it was just Valdez. But Valdez never did those numbers with nobody else. Clearly, I’m an attraction. People, they just need to understand that I’m gonna be going up for years.”
