Trevor’s trip: Jaguars shock Chiefs on QB Lawrence’s epic stumble, recovery

By | October 6, 2025

Trevor Lawrence had his right foot stepped on by his right guard as he took his snap under center.

The play should’ve been doomed.

Instead, Lawrence stumbled twice before getting up, rolling left and running all the way to the end zone.

On the most crucial play of Monday Night Football, Trevor turned a trip into a touchdown.

What a moment for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

They entered the game at 3-1, but this was a proving ground. The mighty Kansas City Chiefs were on the other side.

If the Jags were legit, they’d have to prove it against the Chiefs.

In the early going, the Jaguars managed to hang close enough to give themselves a chance later on.

And a couple of Lawrence rushing TDs in the second half, including the trip-and-fall one, ended up making all the difference.

Lawrence has always been a good athlete, but he seemed to run more than usual in this one.

It worked, too. It matched up with Patrick Mahomes’ increasing tendency to run for his team, too.

The QB run is such a weapon that it’s good that Lawrence has embraced it.

If he keeps running the ball like this, Lawrence will be among the best in no time.
