Following a brief retirement, Tyson Fury is back in action against a familiar foe. The WBC heavyweight champion defends his title against Derek Chisora on December 3.
The fight takes place on what should be a cold December night in London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fury is already 2-0 against Chisora.
The two first met in July 2011 as young lads, with Fury beating Chisora to win the British and Commonwealth heavyweight title. They met again in 2014, with Fury beating Chisora via retirement. Chisora, 38, is 1-3 in his last four fights. He is also the +1200 underdog (Fury is the -2500 favorite, per Caesars). Despite that, “War” believes this fight favors him.
“I think he was a better fighter when I last boxed him,” Chisora told BT Sport. “I’m better now. Last time I fought him he was better, he was good, he was on point.”

After finishing a trilogy with Deontay Wilder, Fury beat Dillian Whyte back in April via TKO. “The Gypsy King” retired following the fight but would tease a boxing return every few months. With potential bouts against Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk both falling through, Chisora stepped up. Now, Fury is ready to fight again and hopeful to become an undisputed heavyweight champion down the line.
There are a lot of detractors when it comes to this fight. Fury has dismissed all of them and is ready for what he hopes is another fight to remember.
“Listen, I rate Derek Chisora as highly as I rate Usyk, and I will train as hard for Derek as I will for any man in the world,” Fury said, via Boxing Scene. “If I didn’t, I would have to be an absolute idiot – I will not underestimate Derek Chisora. God forbid I got beat, it won’t be for the fact that I had an injury or I didn’t train hard enough, it would be the fact that I lost to a better man on the night.”
How much are both expected to make this time around? Here’s how much the two will make for their trilogy fight and how it may affect their wallets in the long run.
