Below you’ll find his entire career shot chart, layered on top of some of the most iconic calls from his enduring moments.
All 14,040 of them.
James is set to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record that’s stood for 39 years. In fact, James wasn’t even born yet — his birthdate is December 30, 1984 — when Abdul-Jabbar sank a patented skyhook in April 1984 to pass Wilt Chamberlain.
It’s an incredible feat that’s required a Herculean effort. Currently averaging 30 points per game in his 20th season, James has averaged over 25 points per game in 19 consecutive seasons, easily the longest streak in NBA history. Along the way, he’s finished in the top 10 in total points 16 times, also the most in NBA history.
In celebration of another record-setting moment, — and one we may never see again — here are all of the King’s buckets en route to sitting on the all-time scoring throne.
