Von Miller Progressive commercial: Inside the ‘Suits’ replay ad featuring Stefon Diggs

By | November 13, 2023

Von Miller has always been an entertainer.

The Bills edge rusher has a tendency to make sparks fly once he gets around the corner, grabbing headlines each time he wrestles an opposition quarterback down to the turf.

And yet, it’s his latest stunt — this time as a part of Progressive Insurance’s ad campaign — that is drawing praise.

In the commercial, Miller — one of the NFL’s greatest fashion icons — strolls down the tunnel ahead of a game. He’s shrouded in chrome, sporting a gleaming gold jacket. His accessories are similarly tinted; from head to toe, Miller is covered in drip.

So too is his teammate, fellow superstar (and noted fashionista) Stefon Diggs. Diggs dons the same screaming suit, drawing confusion — and an eventual challenge flag — from his comrade. Miller disputes the assertion that he hadn’t informed Diggs of his intention to wear his gold-plated ensemble. It’s a claim that Diggs disagrees with vehemently.

An instant replay, brought to us by the ever-so-ethical folks at Progressive, showed that Miller did, in fact, inform Diggs of his desire to put it on.

In the meantime, Progressive did its best to convince onlookers of the superiority of its product. Because capitalism (duh).

The bit ends with Miller requesting that his All-Pro-caliber teammate discard his glimmering hat and sparkly shoes. The OG finally got one over on his youthful compatriot.

Miller is no stranger to the artful task that is draping one’s self in the finest furs. He’s embraced the madness over the years, dressing himself in all sorts of different shades and patterns.

So, too, has Diggs, a wardrobe aficionado in his own right.

Ultimately, the duo came together to make sparks fly under the Progressive banner. And although it might not be completely authentic, it does make for entertaining fodder.
