What channel is Bills vs. Colts on today? Time, TV schedule for NFL wild-card playoff game

By | January 7, 2021

Bills vs. Colts will kick off the 2021 NFL playoff action in an expanded wild-card round.

Buffalo (13-3) hosts Indianapolis (11-5) in the first home playoff game for the Bills in a quarter century. It’ll be broadcast on CBS at 1:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 9, but it’ll also be the first game all year that Buffalo will allow fans into Bills Stadium. About 6,700 people are expected to be in attendance.

The Bills enter the game as maybe the hottest team in football. Their only loss in their last 10 games came on the miraculous “Hail Murray” play against the Cardinals. Josh Allen made a late MVP charge, and while he’ll likely lose out to Aaron Rodgers, he’s proven to be one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in tandem with star wideout Stefon Diggs.

Opposing Allen will be a strong Colts defense centered around standout linebacker Darius Leonard. But if Indianapolis wants to win Saturday, it’ll likely need a big day from either Philip Rivers and/or Jonathan Taylor. The veteran quarterback has played great football since joining the Colts on a one-year deal, while the rookie running back from Wisconsin, Taylor, has dominated the stretch-run of the season.

It’s expected to be a cold day in Buffalo on Saturday, which will put both passers to the test in classic playoff conditions in western New York. Between that and the presence of Bills Mafia, it’ll certainly feel like home-field advantage for the Bills.

Below is all the info you need to watch Bills vs. Colts on Saturday, including the TV channels and kickoff time.

Bills vs. Colts start time

  • Date: Saturday, Jan. 9
  • Start time: 1:05 p.m. ET

Although it’s a Saturday, the 1:05 p.m. ET kickoff is essentially when the majority of teams start their games each weekend. Buffalo went on a prime-time kick late in the season, so it’ll actually be one of the few 1:05 p.m. ET starts for the Bills since the start of December.

This will be the first of six wild-card playoff games to open the NFL playoffs. Since the playoffs expanded to 14 teams for this season, 12 have to play in the first round, resulting in six wild-card games.
