Heavy rain played spoilsport as qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix has been rescheduled to early morning on Sunday, just hours before the race is set to begin at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Qualifying was originally scheduled for Saturday, but torrential rain delayed the start. Formula 1 and the FIA confirmed that qualifying will now take place at 7:30 a.m. local time on Sunday, while the race itself has been brought forward by 90 minutes.

The race for the World Drivers’ Championship title had already started to get tight, with the gap between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris shrinking. While Verstappen is clinging on to the lead with 367 points, Norris currently has 323 points.
