What channel is Monaco Grand Prix on today? TV schedule, start time for 2024 race

By | May 25, 2024

The races are coming thick and fast as the 2024 Formula One season continues into a packed summer schedule, and next on the calendar is arguably the most well-known race in all of motorsport. It’s the Monaco Grand Prix, one third of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, and begins today from the Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo.

It’s the 81st edition of the Monaco Grand Prix — which alongside the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Indianapolis 500 stands above the rest in the motor sporting world — and will see the 20 drivers tackle a 78-lap street circuit featuring all the sights, twists and turns of the tiny principality on France’s southern coast.

Max Verstappen‘s five wins from seven races so far in 2024 means he’s still got a healthy lead at the top of the World Drivers’ Championship standings, but he was pushed all the way by Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc at Imola last weekend. Monaco is Leclerc’s home race, and the Ferrari star will be hoping to put in a good performance as fans flock the streets of Monte Carlo.

The iconic Circuit de Monaco is ready for another four of Formula One, and as the Monaco Grand Prix begins for 2024, The Sporting News has all the details you’ll need to track the action from the eighth race of this season.

When is the next F1 race after the Monaco Grand Prix?

After the 2024 F1 season began with six meetings across Asia, Australia and America, we’re about to be two races into a 10-strong European leg during the summer months of the campaign. Emilia Romagna, the first of two Italy-based races this season, was last weekend, and after today’s meeting in Monaco, we’re heading back over the pond to Canada.

The Canadian Grand Prix takes place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec, another of the most well-known circuits on the F1 calendar — particularly for North American fans. It’s the only non-European race until the end of September, and last in North America until the US Grand Prix in Texas on 20 October.

Taking place in two weeks’ time on Sunday, June 9, the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix will see the 20 drivers face a 70-lap circuit at Montreal. The first practice sessions will take place on Friday, June 7, before qualifying and race-day see out the remainder of the weekend as the summer races fully kick into gear.
