New Orleans and Alabama have long held a rivalry on the gridiron.

The Sunday night capper to the opening round will witness the league’s best in action — the Birmingham Stallions and the New Orleans Breakers.

The 2023 USFL season had been headlined by teams being clustered in the middle, with no true dominant team and no doormat either. That was until the Stallions and Breakers separated themselves from the rest.

New Orleans looked like they’d dominate their way into the championship game after a quick 4-0 start to the season. After finishing 3-3 down the stretch, they couldn’t even capture the division crown.

That instead went to the Stallions — who are one of the four teams that get to play their home games in their own city. Birmingham is the site for this contest and with two high-flying offenses, it should be a fun game to watch.

Birmingham rides a five-game winning streak into the weekend and New Orleans is winners of three straight following their midseason bump in the road. It’s likely that USFL fans will view this game as the real championship, with whoever wins being the favorite to hoist the trophy next week.

Here’s what you need to know to watch the USFL playoff game between the Stallions and Breakers on Sunday, including TV channel and live stream options.
