Wrexham are back in the English Football League (EFL) for the first time since 2008 this season as the Welsh side continue to grab headlines around the world.
The enigmatic and hands-on ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has catapulted the club into the spotlight with the story of their 2022/23 National League title win and promotion the focus of the incoming Series 2 of Welcome to Wrexham’.
Phil Parkinson’s side will be looking to maintain their momentum this season in League Two with an increasing fan base on the other side of the Atlantic set to follow them closely in the coming months.
With so much attention on Wrexham, USA and non-UK based fans will be keen to check out the team in action, and The Sporting News has all the details on how to do so.
How to watch Wrexham in 2023/24
UK fans will have slightly more access to Wrexham matches than supporters from other parts of the world as part of the wider Sky Sports broadcast deal for the 2023/24 season.
Sky Sports will show selected EFL games throughout the season, however, despite the global attention on Wrexham, they are unlikely to receive a significant amount of coverage via this route, with Sky Sports prioritising EFL Championship matches.
Welsh TV service TG4 will broadcast and live stream certain Wrexham games, including the FA Cup, but those will be restricted to Wales and select parts of the UK.
For fans outside of the UK, the EFL have confirmed an expansion and improved version of their iFollow streaming service, which will include all of Wrexham’s League Two matches.
What is iFollow?
iFollow offers an official streaming service for fans of 40 of the 72 clubs (including Wrexham) split across the EFL Championship, League One and League Two.
The package offers live video streaming of matches, with audio match commentary, and supporters are given the option to select their club when registering an account.
iFollow is available on all desktop, tablet and mobile devices, with an additional option to use the service via each club’s official mobile app, available via the App Store and Google Play Store.
To subscribe to an iFollow, fans are required to select their club from the list shown on the EFL’s iFollow page with directions to specific club iFollow pages to complete the subscription.
Subscription packages are available for fans based on the following offers:
- Audio Season Pass – £45.00
- Audio Monthly Pass – £4.49
- Audio Match Pass – £2.50
- Video Match Pass – £10 (subject to availability)
Can I watch iFollow in the UK?
Due to Sky Sports’ broadcast agreement to cover EFL matches, the iFollow service is restricted for UK users, with dates for the 2023/24 season now confirmed.
All UK iFollow subscribers will have access to live audio commentary of their team’s matches, with an option for highlights packages at midnight on game days, but viewing options are strictly managed by the EFL, with an ongoing broadcast blackout between 2:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. (UK time) on Saturdays.
