What Raiders owner Mark Davis said to Shedeur Sanders is turning heads

The Las Vegas Raiders could be in the quarterback market once again next offseason. Since the departure of Derek Carr during the 2023 offseason, the franchise has trotted out three different starting quarterbacks, with Gardner Minshew being the starter in 2024.

Las Vegas has no long-term solution at the position currently on the roster, and it’s time for the team to spend an early pick on a young signal-caller instead of flipping through average veterans in free agency.

One of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft is Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. The 22-year-old has been one of the most consistent and efficient players at his position in the entire nation over the last two years and has the skill set to be a game-changing franchise quarterback at the next level.

If the Raiders receive an opportunity to select Sanders in next year’s draft, it would be a no-brainer for the struggling franchise. It would provide a jolt of excitement into the fanbase, and it appears that owner Mark Davis would be in favor of the move as well.

Sanders and Davis were seen embracing at a Las Vegas Aces playoff game on Friday, and the long-time Raiders owner had an intriguing conversation with the Colorado signal-caller, telling Sanders that he might have a home in Las Vegas.

Davis isn’t the only one who wouldn’t mind seeing Shedeur in Las Vegas. Deion Sanders has said he would be happy to see his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, play for the Raiders at some point.

“That would be nice for [Shedeur & Shilo] to play for the Raiders,” Sanders said in July. “I’m meeting with the team today.”

The Raiders have been stuck in quarterback purgatory for years, and acquiring an electric young quarterback like Sanders would be refreshing. Though Sanders is extremely polarizing, there’s no denying his talent and limitless potential.
