A Bellator original is looking to hold onto his status as an elite champion within the featherweight division. Patricio “Pitbull” Freire will defend his title against Adam Borics at Bellator 286 on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Freire made his Bellator debut in 2010. The three-time Bellator featherweight champion lost the title in 2021 to A.J. McKee. Last, he beat McKee to regain the belt.
Borics made his pro debut in 2014. Since joining Bellator in 2017, he is 9-1 with the promotion and on a four-fight win streak. Borics’ last fight was a win over Mads Burnell in March.
McKee will also fight on this card, competing in the lightweight division for the first time. McKee and Freire are expected to confront one another multiple times by the time Bellator 286 comes to a close.
