What time is the World Series tonight? TV schedule, channel to watch Astros vs. Braves Game 2

By | October 27, 2021

The Braves started off the NLCS by taking a commanding 2-0 lead, and now will look to do the same in the World Series.

The only difference is that in the NLCS, the first two games were at home. This time, Atlanta beat the Astros in Houston 6-2 in Game 1, putting the home team in a difficult spot as the prospect of facing three straight games in Atlanta lingers after Game 2.

The Braves brought the bats out early in Game 1, scoring five runs in the first three innings to jump out to an early advantage. Now, they turn to Max Fried to start Game 2 opposite Houston right-hander Jose Urquidy.

Fried built off a breakout 2020 campaign with a stellar 2021 season in which he pitched to a 3.04 ERA across 165.2 innings of work with 158 strikeouts and a 1.087 WHIP. His first two starts of the postseason were stellar as well, as he allowed just two runs collectively across 12 innings against the Brewers and Dodgers, with only 11 hits, no walks and 14 strikeouts in the two outings. His Game 5 start against Los Angeles did not go quite as well, as he allowed five runs in 4.2 innings.

Urquidy also delivered a strong 2021 season for the Astros as he finished the year with a 3.62 ERA in 107 innings — spanning 20 starts — with 90 strikeouts and only 19 walks allowed. He has made just one appearance this postseason, which came in Game 3 of the ALCS. He lasted only 1.2 innings as the Red Sox tagged him for six runs — five earned — on five hits and two walks. He struck out one.
