The Denver Broncos suffered a crushing defeat on Sunday in Week 10, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 16-14 to drop to 5-5 on the season.
The game ended when the game-winning field goal Wil Lutz was attempting was blocked, sending the Chiefs into major celebration mode and the Broncos to a defeat that will take some time to overcome. That kick had a lot riding on it. Had it been good, here is what would have happened:
– Broncos get to 6-4, Chiefs lose their first game of the season
– Broncos win at Arrowhead for the first time since 2015
– Broncos get a second-straight win over the Chiefs
– Broncos get arguably their biggest victory since winning Super Bowl 50

As you can see, this loss was devastating. But the Broncos still have seven more games to play this season and plenty to play for. One of those games will be against the Chiefs.
When will the Broncos and Chiefs meet again?
Broncos fans still frustrated over this loss likely wish the teams played again tomorrow but unfortunately, the Broncos won’t have another crack at the defending champions until the final game of the season.
The Chiefs will come to Empower Field in Week 18 but the exact date for that game is not yet known. That is because the NFL keeps the final week of the schedule in a “flex” state, meaning they can move the games around to the dates and time slots that they wish in order to get the best television ratings.
It will be 2025 when these two teams play again.
The game will take place on either Saturday, January 4, or Sunday, January 5. The Broncos were able to beat the Chiefs the last time the teams played in Denver, snapping a 16-game losing streak to them.
For this game, it will depend on where the teams stand in relation to the playoffs. If a playoff berth and/or a division title are already wrapped up by the Chiefs at this time, we could see the Broncos play against a bunch of backups.
Broncos fans won’t care, they can’t wait to get another shot at the team that was completely outplayed and beaten on Sunday, yet found a way to win.
