Who plays on ‘Monday Night Football’ tonight? Time, TV channel, schedule for NFL Week 2 game

By | September 15, 2024

The Eagles and Falcons square off on Monday Night Football in Philadelphia’s home-opener.

The Eagles are coming off a zany, 34-29 victory in the NFL São Paulo Game, which afforded them 10 days of rest before the Monday night contest. Philadelphia’s stars spearheaded the victory, with receiver A.J. Brown reeling in 119 yards and a touchdown from quarterback Jalen Hurts, and running back Saquon Barkley having an electric Eagles debut.

Barkley, who spent the first six years of his career with the Giants, notched 132 total yards and three touchdowns. He became the first Eagles player to score three touchdowns in his debut since Terrell Owens in 2004, and he earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

While Barkley shined in his debut, Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins broke in his new threads with far less luster. Cousins, who signed a four-year, $180 million contract in the offseason, threw two interceptions in Atlanta’s 18-10 loss to the Steelers last Sunday.

He’ll look to rebound against a Philadelphia defense that allowed 260 passing yards in Week 1.

The Sporting News has you covered with everything you need to know about Monday Night Football between the Eagles and the Falcons.
