Why is Katie Nolan leaving ESPN? Host of ‘Sports?’ podcast explains departure

Katie Nolan announced on Wednesday that her time with ESPN has come to an end.

Nolan, who first joined the company in 2017 from Fox Sports, confirmed she was no longer employed there via Twitter post:

ESPN responded statement that read, “We thank Katie for her contributions to ESPN and wish her luck in the future.”

The move might not come as too much of a surprise, considering her show, “Always Late with Katie Nolan,” was canceled in early 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also appeared on the ‘Highly Questionable’ finale on Sept. 10, 2021, a day after ESPN announced its cancellation; her last podcast, “Sports? with Katie Nolan,” posted on Friday. She was also a co-host of a version of “SportsCenter” on SnapChat.

Nolan further explained what’s next for her and why she is moving on from ESPN. She suggested that “this year of slowing down” had affected her on a “cellular level,” which should come as no surprise to her podcast audience. She also suggested she would continue to remain in the podcast game after some time, but that she might take a vacation before making a final decision:
