The Liberty claimed the No. 1 seed thanks to their three-headed monster of Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones. They took down 2024 MVP A’ja Wilson and the defending champion Aces in the second round to reach the WNBA Finals.

The No. 2-seed Lynx enjoyed a successful season behind Napheesa Collier’s MVP-caliber breakout, and they defeated Alyssa Thomas and the No. 3-seed Sun to set the WNBA Finals stage.

The Liberty wrapped up the semifinals with the Aces in four games, advancing to the WNBA Finals behind 22 points from Sabrina Ionescu and a double-double from Breanna Stewart.

The Sun forced a Game 5 against the Lynx but couldn’t pull off the upset in Minnesota. Collier went for a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds to go with four blocks, while Courtney Williams had a loud 24 points and seven assists.

The Liberty and Lynx — the top two teams in the WNBA all season long — are set to face off in the Finals.
