Women’s World Cup 2023 Group H table, standings, schedule and fixtures

By | July 24, 2023

The final group of the Women’s World Cup is one with a mix of teams, with some favourites to go on a deep run in the tournament, and some who are at the World Cup for the first time.

Germany, the runners up in last year’s European Championship, are one of the strongest sides in the competition but suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to Zambia in their warm up match for the tournament.

Joining them in Group H are Colombia, who return to the World Cup after failing to qualify in 2019, and debutants Morocco and South Korea.

The latter two sides have great stories, with Morocco being the first ever team from North Africa to qualify for the Women’s World Cup, whilst South Korea went on an amazing run at last year’s Asian Cup, defeating Australia on the way to a second placed finish.

Who will win Group H?

Germany are overwhelming favourites to win Group H, with bookmakers giving the other three sides in the group little chance of toppling the two-time world champions.

Germany’s loss to Zambia may give confidence to the other side, though there is a chance it could also act as a wake up call for a German side looking to make a first World Cup final since 2007.

Who will qualify from Group H?

With Germany clearly expected to qualify from Group H with no problem, there will be a very tight fight for the second qualifying spot between Colombia and South Korea.

Bookmakers currently feel there is little to split the two sides, meaning their opening clash of the World Cup in Sydney will be a must win game if they are to participate in the round of 16.

Group H round of 16 matchups

The two qualifiers from Group H will then be matched up with one of two teams from Group F, which features Brazil, France, Jamaica and Panama.

It means Colombia and South Korea would most likely face a hugely difficult clash against either Brazil or France, though a clash between Germany and one of those sides promises to be one of the most mouthwatering clashes of the round of 16.

Group F round of 16 matchups

The Group F teams that successfully navigate the group stages will then be faced with a knockout round matchup against one of two teams from Group H, containing Germany, Colombia, South Korea and Morocco.

Germany, one of the favourites for the tournament, are most certainly a team to be avoided, but the other teams in the group look beatable and present an excellent opportunity to qualify for the quarterfinals.
