Freddie Freeman’s last-gasp heroics made the difference Friday night, as his walk-off grand slam delivered a 6-3 victory to Los Angeles that appeared unlikely at various points throughout the contest.
Saturday’s Game 2 could very well be decided in a similar manner. For a neutral observer, that wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

6:30 p.m.: Carlos Rodon and Yoshinobu Yamamoto are set to joust for pitching supremacy tonight. Rodon has a career 4.50 ERA across five starts against the Dodgers. Yamamoto, meanwhile, has only made one appearance against New York — a seven-inning masterpiece that saw the Japanese supernova surrender just two hits.
A similar outing on Saturday night would have Dodgers feeling a whole lot better about their chances of hoisting the Commissioner’s Trophy once the dust is settled.
