Baldur’s Gate 3’s ‘Hefty’ Patch 6 Improves Kissing, Adds New Camp Idle Animations, and a Whole Lot More

By | February 9, 2024

Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian has said the game’s next big patch comes out next week, and teased some of the improvements it’s set to make to the sprawling Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.

Patch 6 includes improved kissing, new camp idle animations, new Legendary Actions in Honour Mode, and “plenty” of bug fixes, Larian said in a tweet.

“It’s a hefty one, so we’ll be sharing the full patch notes on the official website – make sure to keep an eye out!” Larian continued.

Baldur’s Gate 3 launched in August last year and became an instant smash hit, soaring to huge heights on Steam before launching on PlayStation 5 and, in December, Xbox Series X and S. Larian has continued to update the game with big patches over the last half year, making significant changes to everything from character endings to your camp.

Larian’s next game is sure to be one of the most anticipated ever, then. What that game is remains to be seen, but last month Larian boss Swen Vincke indicated he’s already worked out its Act 1 narrative.

Meanwhile, Larian has yet to announce any Baldur’s Gate 3 expansions or DLCs. Given how well the game has done, you’d expect something expanding upon its world and characters would do well indeed.

For now, Baldur’s Gate 3 remains one of the hottest games in the world, and is still among the most-played games on Steam. In IGN’s review of Baldur’s Gate 3, which returned a 10/10, we said: “With crunchy, tactical RPG combat, a memorable story with complex characters, highly polished cinematic presentation, and a world that always rewards exploration and creativity, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the new high-water mark for CRPGs.”
