The Resident Evil series celebrates its 25th Anniversary today, and to celebrate Capcom has announced another Resident Evil showcase for April.Capcom won’t reveal what’s set to be at the showcase next month, but Capcom previously hosted a Resident Evil showcase in January that focused primarily on the next game in the series Resident Evil: Village.
At the last showcase, Capcom announced the different retail versions for Resident Evil: Village and released a surprise, PS5-exclusive Maiden demo for free. At the time, Resident Evil producer Pete Fabiano said a multi-platform demo would be released sometime this spring.
Capcom also announced that Resident Evil Re: Verse, a new PvP online experience, is getting an open beta in April for all platforms. From April 7 to April 11, players will be able to play Resident Evil Re: Verse on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.Re: Verse is a PvP multiplayer mode that will be available for anyone who purchases Resident Evil Village. Play as iconic characters like Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield and battle it out to see which team can get the most points. If you’re defeated, there’s a chance you can revive as a famous Resident Evil bioweapon for a second chance to take down whoever killed you.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Capcom also announced that Resident Evil: Village and Resident Evil 7 will be coming to Google Stadia. Village will be available on Stadia the same day as on other platforms, and Resident Evil 7 will be available on April 1 and will be free for Stadia Pro members.
