Rockstar’s Official Agent Website Disappears

By | October 5, 2021

With each passing year, the light that was once Rockstar’s Agent grows dimmer. Today, Agent watchers noticed that Rockstar has seemingly sunsetted its long-running Agent website. Its URL now redirects visitors directly to the Rockstar homepage.

Agent was announced at E3 2009 and was pitched as a Cold War espionage thriller. Rockstar maintained a simple Agent teaser website which included a quick description of the game’s Cold War-era setting and not much else.

Along with its website, Agent has been deleted from Rockstar’s Games section. It certainly seems Agent is all but officially gone at Rockstar.

While there were small updates on Agent’s whereabouts over the years, nothing substantial ever emerged. Despite the silence, Rockstar maintained its Agent trademark until 2018 when it was revealed that the trademark had been abandoned.

Rockstar North was officially announced as the developer for Agent. Along with its 1970s Cold War setting, Rockstar officially described Agent as a “paranoid journey into the world of counter-intelligence, espionage, and political assassinations.”

Instead, all eyes are on Rockstar’s next moves. The studio officially announced that a next-gen, PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming in 2022 and it certainly looks like a Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy is on the way also. Now, if only we can find out what’s going on with Grand Theft Auto 6?
