AEW Moved Around Plan For TNT Title Change

By | September 29, 2021

Sammy Guevara pulled off a big win this week on AEW Dynamite as he won the TNT Title from Miro. After his big win, he told the Rochester crowd that Brodie Lee was the greatest AEW TNT Champion ever. That big win for The Spanish God was actually moved around a bit.

Guevara’s TNT Title win was not a really great secret. We heard very strong rumors that it was happening, because someone connected with Guevara was telling a lot of people that it would go down.

Fightful Select reports that “by a couple of hours” before Dynamite started, “several backstage” were aware that the title was changing hands. They actually moved around the planned dates for the title change. It was supposed to happen around All Out before, and then the idea was moved to Grand Slam. In the end, Miro dropped the strap to Sammy in Brodie’s home city.

Plans were put in place for the title change around All Out. Beyond that, at one point the title change was tentatively planned for the AEW Arthur Ashe show on September 22, before being moved to this week.

Sammy Guevara already has a huge challenge ahead of him. He will face Bobby Fish with the title on the line next week on Dynamite. This is an interesting situation, because Guevara also owes Fuego Del Sol a new car to fulfill the promise he made to his old friend.
