During AEW Rampage this week, CM Punk revealed that he is injured and will need surgery. That being said, he is not relinquishing his title, but the show must go on.

There will be a battle royal to kick off the show next week on Dynamite. The winner of the match will face Jon Moxley in the main event and the winner will go on to Forbidden Door to compete for the Interim AEW World Title.

This is a complicated situation, but that is expected when a champion is injured. CM Punk will be back and will face whoever is the Interim Champion. Only time will tell how long that takes.
