WWE made a lot of surprising cuts over the past few years and AOP’s firing came as a shock for a lot of people. Akam and Rezar have not surfaced anywhere outside WWE yet, but that is about to change.
According to a report from Fightful Select, AOP is set to make their return to the ring. It is reported that Sunny Dhinsa, who was Akam, and Gzim Selmani, who was Rezar are getting back to action after 26 months outside the squared circle.
The Authors of Pain are planning a return to wrestling. It was reported that someone reached out to them and was told by Rezar that, “I’m not a wrestler anymore.” They were thought to be retired, but that might not be the case now.
After Fightful Select reported those interactions last year, the two and their former manager Paul Ellering indicated they “weren’t done yet,” but there haven’t been any details since then. Promoters that we’ve spoken to about booking them haven’t heard back, but Fightful has learned the two have plans to return to the ring.
Akam and Rezar have reportedly reached out to talent about a wrestling event they plan on running in early June in Dubai. They have plans to wrestle at that show as well. Only time will tell if this translates into more matches in the future.
