Bobby Lashley Concussion Protocol At Elimination Chamber Was Likely A Work

By | February 19, 2022

Bobby Lashley never even got a chance to defend his WWE Championship at the Elimination Chamber premium live event. Seth Rollins buckle bombed Austin Theory into Lashley’s pod during the chaotic match. WWE officials then came out and removed the champion.

Michael Cole noted that Bobby Lashley had been eliminated from the match due to being placed in concussion protocol. That meant there would be a guaranteed new champion after the match.

Brock Lesnar entered even though Lashley was scheduled to come in first. The Beast made quick work of his opponents until only Austin Theory was left. Theory attempted to climb out of the cage, but Lesnar caught him.

The two fought on top of Brock’s pod as Lesnar unleashed hell. Lesnar then picked Theory up for an F5 before tossing him to the outside of the ring. Brock climbed down and got the three count.

The injury is likely part of the storyline. Lashley is one of the top stars in WWE, and the move was probably to keep him from eating a pin. WWE has been very protective of their top stars, including Bobby. There is always a chance that the injury was legitimate, of course.

Ringside News exclusively reported years ago that Vince McMahon protects Bobby Lashley whenever it is possible. Taking him out of this match was a way to get him out of the contest without eating a pin, let alone taking a beatdown from Brock Lesnar.

With the victory, Brock moves on to WrestleMania 38 for a monumental showdown with Reigns. It will be shades of WrestleMania 6 as Brock Lesnar takes on Roman Reigns in a title vs title war.
