Brock Lesnar’s Plans For WWE MSG Show Was Changed Several Times

By | March 8, 2022

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE television last year during the SummerSlam pay-per-view, where he confronted Roman Reigns. Since then he had feuded with Roman Reigns for a long time. It seems Brock Lesnar’s plans for WWE’s Madison Square Garden show was changed numerous times as well.

During WWE’s live event at Madison Square Garden, Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Championship against Austin Theory. This certainly upset fans who wanted Bobby Lashley to compete instead.

Following the match, Roman Reigns and The Usos came out and attacked Brock Lesnar and despite a short comeback, Lensar fell prey to their 3 on 1 assault and was busted open as well.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Austin Theory was never a certainty as Lesnar’s opponent as other names were also into consideration. WWE changed up Brock Lesnar’s plans numerous times.

“Bobby Lashley was never going to be there, and they knew that before the show. At first it was going to be Austin Theory, they thought it was better not to advertise that, it changed several times, it started as Austin Theory and finished as Austin Theory, but other names were thrown in there so it was never a lock.”

We will have to wait and see what Brock Lesnar will do next as he will certainly want some measure of payback after Roman Reigns busted him open, ahead of their WrestleMania 38 match.
