Damian Priest Has Survivor’s Guilt After WWE Releases

By | November 16, 2021

WWE superstar Damian Priest has opened up about the latest wave of releases from the company. It is worth mentioning that several performers including Karrion Kross, Keith Lee and Nia Jax were ousted from the billion dollar conglomerate on Nov. 4.

In an interview with Metro, the WWE United States champion admitted to feeling survivors guilt in the wake of mass releases that shocked people within and outside the company.

“It’s unfortunate, obviously. It is not just our business – it’s in any business, that’s just the way it goes,” he said. He continued,” I’ve lost more jobs and more opportunities than I count. That’s the unfortunate part of life.” Then he continued to go into the subject a bit more.

“Especially in a business where you’re living your dream – so it hurts because we care about these people. We know they’re hurting, so we hurt. It’s unfortunate. It’s like that survivor’s guilt – you feel guilty, but at the same time… it’s an odd feeling.”

The NXT alumnus said that though the releases hurt, the thought that the talent will thrive outside of the organization gives him satisfaction and that’s “always my sentiment.”
