June marks the arrival of Pride Month, inspiring a host of celebrations and events around the world. The month-long celebrations serve as a call for inclusion, equality and unity for the LGBTQ community. That being said, not everyone understands the significance of the month and Jake Shields is among them.
The former UFC fighter took to Twitter on Wednesday to drop major homophobic rant. Jake clearly fails to see the purpose of holding month-long celebrations and is openly declaring his hate for Pride Month. Here’s what he wrote on the bird app regarding Pride Month.
It’s not even June and I’m already sick of pride month
Jake followed his tweet with another explosive rant. The tweets incurred the wrath of many on social media, but Jake is unfazed. Sure, he is entitled to his opinion but so are the rest of people on the internet.
I don’t care if you are gay but you really Don’t need an entire month to celebrate that you like butt sex
Jake made his UFC debut against Martin Kampmann on October 23, 2010, at UFC 121. He fought George St-Pierre for the UFC Welterweight Championship on April 30, 2011, at UFC 129 in Toronto, but ended up losing via unanimous decision..
Jake was released from the promotion on April 6, 2014. He is currently fighting in the welterweight division of the PFL. We’ll have to wait and see if he lands himself in trouble with the promotion over his homophobic rant.
