By | October 27, 2021

Hikaru Shida held the AEW Women’s World Title through most of the pandemic. She lost that title to Britt Baker, but she continued her journey in AEW. All of that hard work paid off for her as Shida met Serena Deeb once again.

AEW teased giving Shida her 50th win a couple of weeks ago at the company’s Anniversary event. She was unable to beat Serena Deeb during that match, a huge swerve for fans.

This week on Dynamite, the two met again in a match in Boston. After a hard-fought contest, Hikaru Shida finally pulled off her big win.

This 50th win for Hikaru Shida meant a bit more than other wins. It was also a part of the ongoing TBS Championship Tournament. Now Hikaru Shida will continue in the tournament and she will do it as the first woman in AEW history to rack up 50 victories.

After the match, Serena Deeb pulled off a brutal beatdown that consisted of chair shots and a submission until AEW officials, including Jerry Lynn, had to run down and stop the madness. Now Hikaru Shida will take on Nyla Rose next in the tournament.
