Jake Paul will fight Tyrone Woodley on August 28th for Showtime boxing. Woodley was apparently not the only man that Paul’s camp reached out to. He is after former UFC stars and he apparently made a couple of phone calls.
During his podcast, “Believe You Me,” Michael Bisping congratulated Tyrone Woodley on that big fight. He also revealed that Jake Paul’s people also contacted him about fighting the Problem Child. We’re not sure how much Woodley is pulling in for that fight, but Bisping turned down at $500k offer to step in the ring with the famous YouTuber.
“I’m happy for him. I don’t know what he’s going to get paid, but I’ll tell you right now. I was offered $500,000 to fight Jake Paul, so I would assume it’s probably more since the fight’s happening. So good for him. He might go out there and might be getting $1 million, and I couldn’t be happier for Tyron, because he really deserves it.”
“This is a more interesting matchup. Everybody didn’t know. Everybody f*cking kissed Ben Askren’s ass and said he was going to wipe the floor. There was one person that was smart enough, and I’m sorry to say, it was me. I knew it was going to happen. But Tyron Woodley, I still think…he could put on a fight.”
A lot of people are wondering how Paul vs Woodley will go. They certainly have the attention of the masses, just days before Logan Paul fights Floyd Mayweather. Either way, we’re talking about a Paul brother.
In case you’re keeping track, Jake Paul is currently the heavy betting favorite to beat Tyrone Woodley. Paul also has a guaranteed rematch clause in the contract in case he loses.
