Joey Janela Set To Exit AEW As Contract Expires

By | January 22, 2022

AEW opened their doors while fans had a lot of questions. They wanted to know how someone like Joey Janela would be presented on national television. It turns out that The Bad Boy was actually not presented much as he was moved to AEW Dark after a short stint in Dynamite’s limelight. Now he is seemingly set to leave AEW.

We previously reported that Lio Rush and Brian Cage are both set to leave AEW. Their contracts are expiring, but AEW doesn’t plan on making any public announcements about their deals lapsing. They will quietly depart, and it seems that Joey Janela is with them

According to PW Insider, Joey Janela is among those who have contracts that are running out

Joey Janela, who has been with the company since it was formed and most recently wrestled for AEW against Eddie Kingston in Charlotte, NC on an episode of Dark.

Joey Janela could still work for AEW on a per appearance deal or they could come to a new agreement. We’ll have to see what the Bad Boy does, but he will always have a home on the indies.
