Gargano addressed the NXT 2.0 Universe at the conclusion of this week’s show. Prior to his announcement, they showed him backstage with his pregnant wife, Candice LeRae

Johnny Wrestling started things out by saying that “Heartbreak told me that I can go as long as I want,” and that was followed by a “Please don’t go” chant from the crowd.

Gargano said that he regrets not enjoying his time in NXT more. He always wanted fans to have the best, because “you guys deserve wrestling you can be proud of.” Then Gargano spoke about how he was once told at a WWE tryout that he would never make it to NXT, but thanks to William Regal, Gargano was brought back.

Johnny Wrestling said he was in NXT for so long because he truly loves the brand. He said that NXT is his family and that will never change. “I know change is scary, but sometimes it needs to happen.”

Then Gargano left fans with one more message. “You will never fail if you bet on yourself.” He said that his future is up in the air, “I might do a few things here or there.” Then he put over how he will become a father in February.

As Gargano talked about how much he can’t wait to be a dad, Grayson Waller attacked him with a chair. This was followed by a brutal attack outside the ring that included a powerbomb through the announce table.

We will have to see what happens in the future for Johnny Gargano, but that attack from Grayson Waller was a pretty clear indication that we are in a new generation.
