Keith Lee Reveals Why He Kept Silent About His Illness

By | August 12, 2021

Keith Lee disappeared from WWE television for over six months, and he recently returned to action. Lee’s fans worried about him, and he promised an eventual explanation. That answer came today in the form of a lengthy video.

Lee received a wave of support after revealing that his absence was blamed on heart inflammation following a bout with COVID-19. He also made it clear that Mia Yim did not give him COVID-19, but she did get it from him because she refused to leave his side. That also cost her a spot in the Royal Rumble match.

Lee saw a tweet from a fan that said, “Imagine fighting for your life while wrestling fans blame your WIFE and of course the WWE, when the whole time your wife and the WWE are the ones that were doing EVERYTHING they can to make sure your health was alright. And not being able to say anything during the process. Smdh.” The Limitless former NXT Champion replied to set the record straight.

It isn’t that I couldn’t say anything. I chose not to in order to focus on everything I needed to.

Covid and its after effects can be rather…. unpredictable. I was fortunate enough to be cared for.

Keith Lee competed in a dark match prior to RAW this week. Hopefully, he will get plenty more opportunities to perform for the WWE Universe, because Keith Lee is capable of doing big things in WWE. Hopefully, Keith Lee’s story can be a precautionary one, because everyone is at risk of the terrible effects of COVID-19.
