Matt Cardona Made More Money Selling His Gear From GCW Title Win Than From The Match

By | August 3, 2021

Matt Cardona defeated Nick Gage to become the new GCW World Champion at GCW Homecoming Night One on July 24. That was a controversial moment, to say the least.

Cardona previously took to Twitter where he joked about his earnings from wrestling on the show. No matter how serious Cardona was, the match was not the most profitable of Cardona’s recent endeavors.

Collectors are all about acquiring new pro wrestling memorabilia, and ring worn gear is highly sought-after. Cardona recently appeared as a guest on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast where he made the claim that selling his ring gear from the match was the most profitable for him.

“I sold all my bloody gear. For big bucks, baby. I sold the boots, the wrist tape, the gloves, the pants, the shirts, all sold separately. (I made) more than I got paid for the match. I got paid a lot for the match, but that’s how much the stuff was going for. I don’t control the market. It’s supply and demand”

The fans in attendance appeared very upset at Cardona being victorious as the GCW fans littered the ring with bottles and other trash. Despite the fact of how upset the live crowd was, it appears that Cardona’s victory warranted people spending large sums of money on Cardona’s ring gear from the bloody death match.

Cardona has not revealed the exact amount of money he made from either the match or his sold ring gear, but it appears the GCW World Champion is satisfied with his overall earnings. We’ll have to see what kind of bloody event awaits Cardona’s GCW return. He’s likely to have more bloody gear to sell and make even more cash.
