Matt Cardona suffered an injury at GWC’S Downward Spiral event while wrestling Blake Christian. This went down after Blake hit him with a dive to the outside. Despite the injury, Cardona struggled on to win the match.
While speaking to Wrestling Inc., Cardona revealed that his surgery on his torn bicep is going to be performed on an “upcoming Tuesday.”
Cardona is presently one of professional wrestling’s busiest guys in the pro wrestling world. He was set to defend the ’10 Pounds Of Gold’ against Nick Aldis at NWA Alwayz Ready on June 11 in Knoxville, Tennessee. While he feels “there’s never a good time to get hurt,” he believes “now definitely isn’t a good time” given his current momentum.
“I wanted to just old-school tape it up and keep fighting, but that’s not the smartest thing to do because I want to be doing this for a long, long time. I saw a surgeon, two different doctors, they all recommended the surgery so it is what it is.”
Hopefully, Matt Cardona can get back to action very soon. Injuries are never good, especially when you’re on such a roll like the Broski. We’re sending out our best to the former Zack Ryder from everyone here at Ringside News.
