Mustafa Ali & Vince McMahon Had Heated Argument Before His Release Request

By | January 16, 2022

Mustafa Ali requested his release from WWE and he made that news known today. Odds are they will let him out of his deal, because he could have some heat with Vince McMahon himself.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Vince McMahon and Mustafa Ali had a heated argument. This was prior to Ali asking for one show off, but the company gave him weeks off instead, a hiatus he might never return from.

Mustafa Ali pitched a very political gimmick that was rejected. He still dropped the video online for all to see. Things did not go well when McMahon nixed that gimmick.

As Ali revealed weeks ago, there was a vignette filmed for a Mustafa Ali “New America” gimmick that looked promising for the star. According to those in the know, initially the character was accepted, before those in power in WWE changed their mind. We’re told that in its place, there was a pitch from Vince McMahon for “something Mustafa Ali would never have done,” and it led to a heated argument between the two. Ali hasn’t been around since.

We will have to see what Mustafa Ali does next. Vince McMahon will continue running his billion-dollar pro wrestling company and he will do so without Ali’s political gimmick. This situation might also send a message to others on the roster who want to stand up to Mr. McMahon’s creative decisions.

Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE has a limited open door in terms of release requests. It makes no sense for WWE to keep Mustafa Ali on their payroll anymore with all of their releases in recent memory.
