The name of Rey Mysterio carries with it a plethora of pro wrestling memories. It carries with it a heritage not only of the Mysterio name, but the legacies of so many others he worked with in his many years in the industry. Names like Guerrero, The Undertaker, Orton, Benoit, Malenko, and that list certainly goes on.
This is seen every time he comes out, perhaps referencing the late, great Eddie Guerrero in a match, and the battles and good times they undoubtedly had together. Now he shares the ring with his son Dominik, who will undoubtedly carry on the name within the industry that Rey himself helped build into what it now is today.
It would seem as though the legend has something to let his fans in on though, as he posted this message on Twitter, promising quite the big surprise…a surprise that has the power to change his own history, according to Mysterio.
“December 9, 2021 Remember that date! I’ll reveal some very exciting news that will change the history of Rey Mysterio. More details coming soon!”
Not many are in the know, but according to a piece at Wrestling Inc, there were talks last year about a series in development by Cartoon Network Latin America on Rey Mysterio, but no other news was forthcoming from that project since.
It could be this, but it could also be about any other subject, too. He and Dominik have been seen on WWE TV for the greater part of the year, and throughout the pandemic in many mainstream storylines for WWE. Perhaps the announcement can also be about their WWE careers in some way, but we’ll keep you posted, or rather Rey will, come the 9th of December, so stay tuned.
