WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle is undoubtedly one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever graced the squared circle. He had a tremendous career in WWE, spanning multiple World Title runs and incredible matches.
Kurt Angle would make his TNA debut back in 2006 and was immediately thrust into a main event feud with Samoa Joe. In the first confrontation between the two, Kurt Angle hit Joe with a very stiff headbutt and busted him open the hard way.
While speaking on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, Kurt Angle talked about the interaction between him and Samoa Joe, revealing details of Joe’s reaction before and after the segment.
Angle said that he told Samoa Joe prior to the segment that he was going to work very stiff, to which Samoa Joe agreed. After busting him open, Angle said that Samoa Joe was very angry at Angle.
“I told Joe I was going to give him a real headbutt and he said, ‘Bring it on’. I brought it on and I cut him open. It was the hard way. I think he was a little pissed off. He got up, partly because of his character, he was behind me, stalking me, and he had this pissed off look on his face. But you know, if you know Joe, you know he was really pissed at that too. It was a great moment. Joe and I had incredible chemistry
Joe and Angle would have a tremendous rivalry during their time in TNA, where they fought over the TNA World Championship. Both of them would eventually leave TNA for WWE. Angle was fired by WWE last year as part of the COVID-18 budget cuts and the same happened to Samoa Joe this year. We will have to see what is next in store for the both of them.
