Santino Marella is a familiar name to anyone who watched WWE during the late 2000s and early 2010s. While he’s currently active in TNA Wrestling, he made lots of memorable moments during his time in WWE and Marella has now addressed potentially getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Santino Marella talked about being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame one day. He said it really depends on what people want from wrestling.
Marella noted that some fans prefer tough, serious matches and aren’t interested in comedy. He pointed out that opinions can be very divided since some people don’t think comedy belongs in wrestling at all. However, he believes the majority of fans do enjoy the funny moments, even if a smaller group does not.
“Well, it depends what you go to wrestling for. If you want macho tough guys, and some people just don’t like comedy, they want to see slobber knockers each and every match. It’s pretty polarized. I think the vast majority of people appreciate the comedy, but there are people that they have no place for comedy.”
Santino Marella is the Director of Authority in TNA Wrestling and his feud with Robert Stone is definitely one of the best things on TNA television, but many fans feel Marella does deserve a WWE Hall of Fame induction.
While comedy in wrestling isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, Santino Marella’s WWE career is major proof that comedy can make someone a star. Therefore, only time will tell if he gets a WWE Hall of Fame induction somewhere down the line.
