Ever since Shotzi Blackheart was released by WWE, fans have been wondering if she will ever make her way to another major promotion like AEW. As it turns out, she does have an interest in joining AEW and has revealed all of her reasons.
While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Shotzi Blackheart said she loves both TNA and AEW, but if she had to choose, she’d pick AEW. She likes the freedom AEW gives its wrestlers, has a lot of friends there doing great things, and has heard good things about how Tony Khan treats the talent.
Blackheart also mentioned that the fun and relaxed vibe and she joked that one of the perks to going to AEW would be to make out with hot women there.
“I love TNA, I love AEW. AEW. For so many reasons. I love their freedom, I have a lot of friends there who are doing really awesome things. I’ve heard many stories about how Tony treats talent, so I do love that he really cares for his talent—that is super important to me. And like, hot girls get to make out with each other, so that’s cool.”
When asked about her dream feud, Blackheart said Athena was the first person who came to mind because she thinks Athena is the best women’s wrestler in the world. She also mentioned wanting to face Mercedes Moné and Toni Storm, especially because Toni’s promos would be fun to hear.
Shotzi said she doesn’t want to go to AEW just because she used to be in WWE. She wants to earn her spot by working hard on the indie scene and hopes that if AEW likes what she’s doing this year, they’ll want to sign her.
“Dream feud? First thing that comes to mind is Athena. I think she’s so awesome, she’s the best women’s wrestler in the world. But also Mercedes Moné, obviously. Toni Storm, absolutely—just to hear the promos she’d cut on me. But I wouldn’t wanna go to AEW just because I was signed with WWE and expect them to sign me.
That’s why I wanna earn my spot and kill it on the indies, and if they really love what I’m doing for the rest of the year, I’m game.”
This comes after Shotzi Blackheart already made it clear she is making good money in the independent circuit and explained how she managed to do that. Regardless, we’ll have to see if Blackheart will make her way to AEW one day as fans would love to see her there in the future.
