Pro Wrestling NOAH and WWE’s partnership has been going strong for the past couple of years now, as wrestlers from both companies have appeared in solid programs. However, fans have noticed there hasn’t been any involvement with NOAH for a long time now and the current status of the partnership has been revealed.
While speaking during a Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp was asked to give an update on WWE’s partnership with Pro Wrestling NOAH. He said the partnership still exists, but it only happens once in a while, usually when it fits WWE’s plans or when a wrestler is off TV for a bit.
Sapp noted that he hasn’t heard anything about the partnership recently because WWE is focusing more on its work with TNA and AAA. Even though nothing big has happened with NOAH lately, the deal is definitely not over.
“They’ll pop up every so often—like whenever it works, or even when there’s somebody who takes a little bit of time off TV. I haven’t heard of anything recently, though.
The focus right now has been primarily on the TNA and AAA relationships. But the NOAH one is not over. There are a lot of moving parts, and they want to make sure they’ve got their ducks in a row, as best I know. But yeah—it’s not over.”
This year, the partnership saw Yoshiki Inamura become part of an extended NXT program and on the other hand, Omos made his debut at NOAH The New Year and won GHC Tag Team titles with Jack Morris before eventually relinquishing the titles.
While WWE’s partnership with Pro Wrestling NOAH may seem quiet for now, it’s far from over. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see when WWE and NOAH will resume their partnership, as fans definitely loved it.
