By | May 1, 2022

Tetsuya Naito is one of the top stars in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Naito has had classics against the likes of Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Kenny Omega to name a few.

According to Tokyo Sports, the Los Ingobernables de Japon leader will have a surgery performed in his right eye to treat it for superior oblique muscle paralysis. Naito had his first surgery in 2019

The NJPW star told the outlet he’s suffering from diplopia, which is the medical term for double vision, due to said paralysis and that he’s eye is in really bad shape.

He further stated that he’ll be taking some time off from the company during the upcoming Best of the Super Juniors tournament to go under the knife. It is worth mentioning that Naita took a 20-day break to heal from his eye surgery in 2019.

That being said, Naita unsuccessfully challenged Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku event on Saturday, May 1st, 2022.
