Tommy Fierro, who is the owner of ISPW (Independent Superstars of Professional Wrestling), has struck a partnership with producer/performer Jeremiah James. The two will be developing a new pro-wrestling musical, called ‘The Last Match.’
Fierro also has 80s Wrestling Con. & The Wrestling Collector Store under his belt. Jeremiah James has formerly produced and performed on It Happened in Key West The Musical.
‘The Last Match’ is set to feature Jason Huza & Sylvana Joyce’s book and lyrics, while Joyce also delivers on music alongside C.R. Smith. Book and Original Concept are by Jeremiah Jones himself.
James & Fierro spoke in a Broadway World exclusive, where James explained that the show will not be traditional. He said that instead of being conducted in a proscenium theater, the show will happen in a Wrestling event.
The 90 minute show plays out like the classic Wrestling Pay-Per-View but with a twist. The twist being the audience seeing (through the magic of theatre) the ‘Real’ behind the scenes drama and politics that Pro-Wrestling has, at times, been known for. It’s an unconventional theatre piece. It wont be presented in a classical proscenium theatre. It’s a Wrestling Event, that happens to be a musical, and will be presented as such.
The story follows Ben Vengeance, a Hall of Fame pro-wrestler who is ready to relinquish his career. Since he incurred many injuries over time, his doctor and his pro-wrestler wife suggest that he should prepare himself for a match to pass the baton to a younger generation.
